    State- Monarchs vs. Port Townsend

Monarchs finish a fantastic season this afternoon at the Tacoma Dome. Bouncing back from yesterdays heartbreaking lost, the Monarchs soundly defeated Port Townsend to finish 3rd in State. Ephrata went on to win the championship game beating Burlington-Edison 58-56. Thanks to Tug Harris being camerman, video of all 4 state games are now available. I need some sleep…

    State- Monarchs vs. Ephrata

    March 7th, 2008

Monarchs weren’t ready for a motivated Ephrata basketball team. Ephrata not only buried the three, but drove the ball to the rack, keeping the Monarchs on their heals tonight. Typically, the Monarchs are able to get their second wind and clamp down defensively, but tonight it was more of a breeze; however, they were able to claw their way into overtime with a final second 3 pointer. Ephrata took first blood in overtime and this time the Monarchs came up short.

    State- Monarchs vs. Clarkston

    March 6th, 2008

Monarchs built a lead early in the game and had it up to 20+ at one point in the game. Give it to Clarkston though, to not give up, and make a strong run down the stretch. Monarchs for some reason did not handle the Clarkston full court press late in the 4th quarter. Clarkston also hit some big three’s to get it under 10, but in the end the Monarchs walked away with a sloppy win.

    State- Monarchs vs. Archbishop Murphy

    March 5th, 2008

Monarchs were impatient out of the gate taking quick shots. After coach Bakamus called a timeout, the Monarchs got their act together and cruised to a win. Tug Harris was kind enough to be the cameraman for the game so we have game video for the game as well.

This win enables the Monarchs to once again travel to the State. Monarchs play Friday to determine whether they will be the 1st or 2nd place seed at State. Go MONARCHS!!!

    Landsharks Oregon Prep Tournament

    February 16th, 2008

Landsharks on Saturday finished 1st in their pool with 2 wins. Landsharks, still of to a slow start, turned on the heat in the 2nd half of the 2nd game to blow out Hockinson after being tied at half time. This kind of energy is what the Landsharks to bring to every game. On Sunday, the Landsharks beat Stark Street Pizza in the first game which brought them to the championship game against Pendleton. Missed free throw by Rem and a missed shot at the buzzer by Pendleton took the game into overtime. Landsharks were unable to capitalize in overtime and loss the game taking 2nd place this weekend.

    Monarchs at Ridgefield

    February 15th, 2008

Monarchs win big in Ridgefield. Unlike the game against Washougal, the Monarchs were able to keep the defense hustle going for 4 quarters. Excellent shooting from the Monarchs helped to keep the hustling Ridgefield team from getting close. Now the Monarchs need to carry this intensity and shooting to Districts. Go Monarchs!!
